Character Information
JOSH Queer man, late 20s - mid 30s. A little awkward, self-contained. Not comfortable in or with his body. He looks up to Rob and probably has a slight crush on him. Probably an accountant or IT guy. He wears jeans and a plaid shirt or a polo.
ROB Queer man, mid 20s - 30s. Comfortable in his skin. Horny, confident, smart, gregarious. He's the most traditionally fit of all the guys. And socially-aware. He wears a fashion-forward jock, probably from Andrew Christian.
NATHAN Queer man in his 30s. Comfortable in his skin. A doting Montessori dad. He's single. He shares custody of his kid with his ex-wife. He's kind of daddy. He's the comforting one in the group. He wears a traditional, utilitarian jock.
CODY Queer man in his 30s. Comfortable in his skin. A doting Montessori dad who is married to a man. He wears a harness and jock that's more industrial, perhaps from Nasty Pig.
EFFORT SHOULD BE MADE TO CAST ACTORS WHO IDENTIFY AS GAY, BI, OR QUEER IN THESE ROLES. Also, resist the urge to cast the play with gym rats. Of all the characters, Rob is the one who is the closest to being someone who spends time in a gym. The others can be average guys with dad bods. The key to the play is how Josh views himself. He could even be in better shape than the others (with the exception of Rob).
