2A: an evening of plays written by the students of Ms. Sandoval's 7th grade drama class

We are gathered today to see a presentation of short plays written by the students of Ms. Sandoval's 7th grade drama class. A small ensemble of professional actors from the local production of Aphra Behn's The Rover has come to perform their work. The plays are in turn funny, deep, dark, and have a surprising amount of candor about their life experiences and how they see the world they will inherit...

A small ensemble of professional actors from the local production of Aphra Behn's The Rover has come to perform their work. The plays are in turn funny, deep, dark, and have a surprising amount of candor about their life experiences and how they see the world they will inherit. Unfortunately, due to a sudden (and all-too-common) tragedy, the students couldn't be with us today to witness their words brought to life.

Wow. Just wow. Such an impactful and current script. At turns haunting, and engaging, and charming, and bittersweet, but through it all, memorable.

This play is a brilliant piece of theatre, it utilizes some fantastic tools to tell a story in a fresh and impactful way. Our audiences were stunned, and every piece was written with such care and intention that it comes to life in a beautifully tragic way.

A stunning anthology of funny, heartfelt, witty and raw pieces of theater. There is so much brilliant storytelling happening in the subtext of each play, each young playwright feels like a fully realized voice.
I am in awe of how this play uses silence and absence to say so much.

To be performed by a minimum of 4 actors but it can be many more. The only stipulation being that there must be an equal number of women as well as men. A wide range in ages, say from 20 – 80, would be cool. Also, it should be needless to say, wide ethnic/racial representation is a must. Deal-breaking, in fact.
