His replacement, a bombastic man with questionable theater, film, and television credits, pushes them in artistic directions they have never been before. The club finds itself stubbornly divided, with some thinking the new man is a charlatan and the others thinking he is a genius. As the curtain draws nearer, their divide deepens, and the direction grows wilder. To make matters worse, their principal would like nothing more than to see the club fail and disappear. Will they be able to put aside their differences and mount a show?

This play is SO FUN. It's a great opportunity for young actors and captures the high school theater life in all its glory. Sure to be a crowd pleaser for all ages!

  • William Ivers: If It Walks Like A Duck

Funny and observant, this play captures youthful optimism in the topsy turvy world of high school theatre, where adults are in the way of art. The writing captures an absurd but believable situation for anyone who's ever been involved in community theatre at any level––where ridiculous obstacles are not only possible, but likely.

  • David Beardsley: If It Walks Like A Duck

This is such a fun and funny play. It lovingly toys with theatre clichés and traditions, and it joyously captures the spirit of a doomed high school production mounted by a troupe that isn't yet jaded enough to let one glorious flop interfere with their dreams. Just when it seems poised to veer into absurdity or farce, the plays takes an uplifting turn, and we watch a group of high schoolers teach themselves a vital lesson, a lesson that the adults around them seem to have forgotten: Dream big and live "all in."
