Is this play about...us? Hooked immediately by Vanderburg's vivid language in this thrilling dark comedy about a world of people who haven't slept in three years. Though utterly disturbing (compliment!) and bloody (compliment!) and horrifying (compliment!), it delighted me to my core. A beautiful construction/blend of horror and joy, inviting me to laugh and scream and cry.

This superb, genre-bending piece blew my mind in all the best ways! Vanderburg establishes a bold theatrical world that mixes noir, science fiction, satire, and horror, conjuring images and moments that are hilarious one moment and genuinely terrifying and unnerving the next. I was hooked from the start and engaged throughout the entire story. There were recognizable tropes from those various genres, but they felt fresh and innovative here--the contrasting elements felt part of a mind-blowing, cohesive aesthetic whole. What an inventive way to explore mental health, anxiety, contemporary existential angst and crises, and alienation. Brilliant!
