Alone during the pandemic, three people who live in the same building finally meet on their fire escape and discover they don't have too much in common except their need for connection, acceptance and new found friendship.

Pure friendship doesn't get enough stage time, but it's at the heart of this beautifully drawn one act. Chance Meeting offers real, believable characters with depth, and in some respects, is a love letter to NYC in a time that it really needs some love. This is a heartfelt play set during the pandemic, but it manages to be about so much more: companionship, vulnerability and deep connection. Loved it.

What a delightful and beautifully written play. It may be set in NYC but neighbours becoming friends is universal. The three characters are so well drawn and the pace is perfect and never falters. I love the theme of friendship which is vastly undervalued. I didn't want the play to end and could have stayed on that fire escape with 3B, 4B and 4D a whole lot longer. It may be set in the time of the pandemic but it has a timeless quality too. When can I see a production?

I love this play. This very New York feeling of it, the chance meeting, the genuine interactions between 3 very different people yet all similar in their solitude. The pandemic details are just enough without going overboard. The character reveals give the reader/observer enough detail and there is a ring of truth to all three.
