Poor Queenie

by Eliana Theologides Rodriguez

After the death of her wealthy, far older husband, a young mother is left alone with her teenage daughter for the first time. Their newfound freedom initially creates a world of never-ending fun, but the two must reckon with their past when façades inevitably begin to fall.

  • The Workshop Theater: Poor Queenie

The Workshop Theater is pleased to recognize Eliana Theologides Rodriguez as a playwright selected out of a competitive pool of applicants for our Spring 2021 Writer’s Intensive. The Writer’s Intensive is an eight-week long, playwright-driven process geared towards revising an existing play. With ease, Rodriguez creates characters who each have a crown of their own and a dark side that enthralls with every read. By exploring loss, pain, and coping, we glimpse a picture of complex love and complex hurt. Our congratulations and thanks to Eliana.
