The community of national and local readers for the Bay Area Playwrights Festival in 2021 enthusiastically recommends THINGS I NEVER TOLD THE STARS as a Semi-Finalist at Playwrights Foundation. We were deeply moved by the relationships between Stella and her grandparents, as well as transitions between the metaphysical world and reality. We were compelled by the play's promise, as the central imagery of the cosmos is beautifully rendered. We hope this play is widely read, finds dedicated collaborators, and moves swiftly towards production. #BAPF2021

I am in love with the cosmos/universe strand running throughout the piece. The setup of reclusive grandfather and confused, questioning granddaughter could play as a very conventional family drama, but the way the playwright plays with time by sending Stella into the cosmos with Margaret, then showing her scenes from the past, and forcing her to speak the things she won't say, feels inventive and compelling. #BAPF21
