Matthews has distilled an incredibly real and complex feeling in these pages. This play demonstrates how hard it is to enjoy even things that should be enjoyable with the looming specter of debt tainting every experience. This is a great reflection on what it's like to be a victim of capitalism. Plus, it's easy to produce and perfect for young directors and classroom use. Of course, it also deserves professional productions. There's something for everyone here!

It can be hard to treat yourself. I often feel a responsibility to never dine out, go see things that excite me, or spend time with friends because of the costs. This is all exaggerated by the crippling inflation. "I'm not Okay" is highly relatable in that. Olivia does a wonderful job at creating such fascinating characters in such a short time. I can't wait to be able to see this piece on stage.

This play captures what it is to be a young person in today's world, this feeling of going nowhere, not doing anything with a degree that no one cares about while in an economic hole that seems to have no bottom. Kara's dilemma about whether to be "fiscally responsible" or live her damn life for herself and be happy for once hits so hard. I can't wait to see this timely play produced!
