In Wolfs Clothing

by Ashley Lauren Rogers

<20 MINUTE - A haunted attraction will welcome all sorts of monsters: ghosts, werewolves, and vampires alike. While these are all people in masks and elaborate costumes how does one tell if someone is truly monstrous even when they remove their costume? Susan and her sibling Dawn must answer the same question as Susan fires Dawn's best friend Aaron two days before Halloween.

CW: Discussions of unspecified assault.

In Wolfs Clothing

A tense piece on toxic cishet masculinity and the difficulty and necessity of confronting it. The characters are believable and their dynamics feel heartbreakingly real. Someone coming to terms with her dear friend's abusiveness, and calling it out, is a painful but beautiful thing to behold in a world where that is not necessarily the norm, and the setting of a horror attraction only throws the dynamics and toxicity into even sharper relief and makes the whole thing more haunting.
