This great play has me thinking quite a bit about catharsis because it brilliantly withholds any obvious variation of such thing. The Question Game is a fantastic take on a parent/child reconciliation and satisfies on many emotional levels. Such confrontations don't unfold and wrap up perfectly in life and this play avoids simplistic and predictable plot points yet left me filled up in the end.

The Workshop Theater is pleased to recognize Ashley Lauren Rogers as a playwright selected out of a competitive pool of applicants for our Fall 2020 Writer’s Intensive. The Writer’s Intensive is an eight-week long, playwright-driven process geared towards revising an existing play. Ashley was clear, hard working and quick in revising her one-act, which denied audiences the easy, dumbed-down, neat version of life as a punk rock transwoman grips with loss and so many unanswered questions in favor of acceptance of the complex, bittersweet reality of parents that just didn't show up. Our congratulations and thanks to Ashley.
