Sadie's Day

Sadie has stage four lung cancer, but she’s not complaining. Really, she isn’t. She’s not
asking for the perfect day, just one specific day. But her daughter, Dinah, wants to conjure a baby from her dead husband’s frozen sperm. Her granddaughter, Martha, is struggling over whether to keep an unwanted pregnancy alive and kicking. And, Rick, Sadie’s overworked hospice worker, just wants a day off from death.

All Sadie wants is a fucking crab cake and a glass of champagne with a side of barbiturate. That’s all.
“Sadie’s Day” is the reckoning of three women and one man, of what it means to choose where the sanctity of life lies in us all.

Sadie's Day

ROSALIE (SADIE) ALASCIO 70's, Caucasian, Dinah’s mother, in her final months of a
battle with lung cancer. Salty, salty, salty.

DINAH MAJORS early 40s, Caucasian, Martha’s mother, recently widowed, a bit dramatic,
married well. Caucasian.

RICK TULSA 40s, Caucasian or Bi-racial or any POC, Hospice Nurse, sometimes over the
top, never a queen. Okay, maybe sometimes.

MARTHA MAJORS 19, Bi-racial, Caucasian-African American. Dinah’s daughter. Fiercely
independent, and monetarily independent.
