Confidently told in a bouncy style, Good Heavens gives us a glimpse into the struggle to discover the geometry of the solar system while trying to appease the Biblical constraints. It marvels at the heroic achievements of early astronomers. What an achievement, to look up at the night sky and determine that the earth and planets revolve around the sun! So engaging and so funny!

A time-bending telling of some of the history of astronomy, that brings a light, modern touch to two scientific lives without lessening the gravity of the themes. The humor Repp gives to this play serves to highlight the folly of the characters, who give their lives seeking higher universal truths, yet continuously get in their own way through their human pride and jealousy. Through the fascinating history, Repp challenges us to examine the importance of sharing and spreading truth, even when those truths shake our very world. This play gives so much material to sink your teeth into.

GOOD HEAVENS! examines the tension between two historical figures fighting for the legacy of their beliefs. This play manages historical accuracy without sacrificing entertainment, making sure to have a healthy dose of comedy throughout. This would be an excellent play for any theatre interested in an entertaining new work with an educational bent. I hope to see a production of it soon!
