Such a beautiful play, I was in tears! Here is a whole story, beginning, middle and end, that caught me up in the tension of the difficulty of what Greg is trying to do in the middle of this hateful American culture that makes it even harder for him to be himself. Juggling all that, Bivens manages to create 4 strongly identifiable characters (the Princess, the mother, the stranger and the dad) while even making the little girl's responses clear. This would be a great role for an actor to play! Easy to produce and a hit for any festival!

A tender, deeply felt, and astonishingly beautiful scene. Bivens builds an expansive history through Greg's monologue, and lets us feel his internal struggle through every word, said and unsaid. Masterfully done in every way.
