ONE ACT (2M)
"Watch Your Pronouns" shows us two old friends gathering daily at their favorite park and sharing stories of their lives. However, on this particular day, their routine takes a different turn. Both friends courageously reveal their deepest, darkest, and most regrettable secrets, exposing their vulnerabilities in a way they never have before. One friend, a grandfather to a young transgender individual, shares his inner turmoil and sadness. He grapples with losing the baby girl he once knew and loved as his granddaughter transitions into his grandson. Struggling to navigate this unfamiliar territory, he feels the weight of his son's instructions to "Watch His Pronouns" and longs for understanding and acceptance. The other friend harbors his own deep-seated pain stemming from the tragic loss of his son because of his unknowing biases toward his gay son. Through their profound losses and the power of their friendship, the two friends will embark on a journey where they find solace, compassion, and a renewed sense of empathy as they share their stories and offer each other new perspectives.
