Adored reading this. Despite the subject matter, I smiled basically the whole time I and fell in love with Eve and her friends. The central love story is handled with a lot of specificity and care and it was a delight to get to experience a history play that feels as current and relevant as this did. More than anything, though, this piece convinced me that Esterly is a voice to watch. It's great to read a play this accomplished by an emerging writer and I look forward to the rest of her work.

Immediately charming and engaging! I love the energy and vivacity of the characters and felt immediately transported to 1920s New York. Based on a true history (that I wasn't aware of!), I really appreciated the emphasis on Jewish women. This is a great ensemble piece with equal parts heart and grit.

Fascinating play about a little-known woman in queer history. Loved the moments of breaking the fourth wall that Esterly creates.
