A play about the funny things that happen in our saddest moments, the sad things that happen in our happiest moments, and also, about competitive meditation.. (Previously titled: "Tryhard" for the Valdez Theatre Conference).

I was so fortunate to watch a reading of this play in Florida with Clamour Theater Company in February of '26. I loved this play! The humor is expertly balanced with heartache, the dialogue flies, by the end I was left standing in the wreckage holding my heart wondering what just happened and glad that it did. I'm eager to follow its developmental journey. Produce produce!

What a skillfully crafted play—and if you’ve experienced grief from losing a loved one, this play will resonate especially strongly with you. The characters feel familiar and relatable and the relationships are so nuanced—great storytelling. The moments of humor feel so true and emerge at the perfect moments. A lovely play.

I was sad to miss this at the Valdez Theatre Conference and glad to find it here instead. What a solid, affecting, nuanced play. The characters are all relatable and believable, the situation is expertly crafted, and the naturalistic language is wonderful, from the therapy jargon through the expertly placed pauses and interruptions. What these characters go through is all terribly real, and all really terrible.
