I played Petal in this beautiful play (At Left Edge Theatre's original short play fest last year), and it was a true honor. The director and I wanted more of her story. Deep Breath offers a simple set-up with very intimate, entertaining, and tantalizing elements that leave the audience to question what exactly is going on. It's funny, heartfelt, and definitely thought-provoking. The invasion of Ukraine had just begun when I took this role, and I was deeply upset- Petal offered me a way to explore my own humanity, and I am grateful for that chance.

A mysterious other worldly striving for connection that will have you rooting for these characters as they both make the effort.

This one-act play is strange, delicate, affirming, mysterious, emotional. It's very of this moment when it feels like so many people feel alone and detached, but cannot bring themselves to say that.

Credit Greg Vovos for writing two distinct, wonderful characters and for making them relatable rather than oddly fantastical and cloying. Petal and Man are rich in their many layered emotions in "Deep Breath."
