Humorous in all the right places. Tender in all the right places. Everyone needs a friend like Evan. And every theatre needs a playwright like Vince Gatton. "Weird and amazing, yeah."

I love this short. Two roommates are picking their audition monologues for Romeo and Juliet, and like any Vince Gatton play, it's about that, but it's not just about that. It's also about not fitting a mold and being brave enough to be yourself and the importance of a support system. Plus the two boys have a conversation that is delightfully, firmly in the theater nerd realm, and I am 100% here for it. And the ending left me all warm inside. So sweet!!

A profoundly potent short piece. Gatton is an exceptional dialogist/storyteller, never failing to pack a wallop in ways that are eternally surprising. A beautifully layered and tender exchange between two young men preparing to audition for a Shakespearean play.

Teen boy, any ethnicity, highly unlikely to get cast as the romantic lead in his high school play. Very good with Shakespearian verse.
