There's enormous room in this evocative and smart piece for a director and actors to interpret, imprint, and impress. The writing is divine - the "will they or won't they" tension is only surpassed by the "are they or aren't they" question that hovers over it all. Such an engaging piece!

Brilliant, fun, highly imaginative. You will never listen to the announcers on public transit the same way again. This play ought to be performed everywhere and often, on trains and buses everywhere, with passengers.

Please Hold On is one of the most imaginative and metaphorical plays I've read in a long time. I don't want to give too much away as there's such pleasure in reading this theatrical jaunt. Suffice it to say that Man and Woman will have your attention from first announcement to last and you'll listen differently the next time you take public transportation. A highly theatrical and stylized piece, an homage to Beckett and Theatre of the Absurd, yet firmly grounded in the present. Read and produce!
