Only The Witch Will Burn

Praise-God and Fear-God have accused each other of witchcraft. Praise-God and Fear-God are mother and daughter. Praise-God and Fear-God are awaiting trial in a jail cell, while something dances around a fire in the dark.

A two-hander about witchcraft, demons, motherhood, daughterhood, the cycle of abuse--and breaking the chains that link it.

I love this play truly madly deeply with every fiber of my being for there is nothing casual or surface or subtle about it. It is rooted in the kind of raw, primal relationship only known by those with a cellular understanding of what it means to be intrinsically tied to another, not by choice, but by circumstance. What does this type of relationship conjure within us? Can we reckon with what we become? And are we strong enough to engage in the kind of magic it takes to heal our ugliest selves?
