DOGS

It is the Fourth of July sometime in the future, and history is about to be made. We are about to witness the annual Hot Dog Eating Contest. The five women invited to this stage have set out to conquer nature, destroy their own limits, and shatter our perception of what the human body is or isn’t capable of. The five women invited to this stage have set out to conquer nature, destroy their own limits, and shatter our perception of what the human body is or isn’t capable of. DOGS is a dizzying, anti-plot, high-intensity exploration of capitalism, competition, and consumption that begs the question: how long can we keep all this up?

I attended a reading at Red theater and have not stopped thinking about this play since. It casts a spell on you. You'll be taken on a ride. You won't want to get off.

Unconventional in every way, this play demands to be staged.

This is SUCH a fun and innovative play! Unlike hot dogs, this play is packed full of good stuff: cacophonic moments, smart humor, fantastic characters, thought-provoking themes, and theatrical spectacle. Gather some friends and just read it to hear the music of the play. Or better yet - Produce It!!
