Tremendous piece of work here, epic in scope and yet filled with empathy and humanity as we take a deep look at the hell of war. In the middle of that, we have love stories that are fully developed and tragic in nature. Staging is just tremendous in terms of just how to portray the war and battle scenes that will certainly have audiences on the edge of their seats. The ending is just devastating but so well earned. Incredible adaptation of one of the first noteworthy pieces of cinema, and this theatrical experience would be similarly heroic. Highly recommended!

This is remarkable. It's a fresh, crisp period piece, at once a war drama and a love story that is fully realized, well-written, believable, and emotionally resonant. This deserves to be widely produced and read. It would be a great mainstage production, and I can already picture the set I would design if I were ever in the position to put up such a great piece of work.

War is hell. But then, so many things are hell. Familial pressures, unrequited love, friendships that end tragically, relationships that endure tragically. This is a gripping adaptation of a celebrated film that gave us the first onscreen kiss by between two men in mainstream cinema. Alaina Tennant brings us a fresh, lively stage interpretation of the silent movie classic. It would be a joy to witness live onstage.
