Some of my favorite pieces of art are the ones that make me simultaneously laugh and cry - this play fits the bill. I had the pleasure of directing a staged reading of "The Second Steve" and throughout the rehearsal process, my cast and I were consistently struck by not only Jennifer Faletto's witty characters and clever dialogue, but also the play's larger themes of control, family, and centralization. I have not stopped thinking about this play and I look forward to seeing a fully realized production of this masterful work.
