Having only read this play by Komisar, I am now a deep and permanent fan. Have you ever wished there was a play about anthropomorphic animals fighting desperately for their lives, family, and place in society in the face of an uncaring personality destroying disease that was also wildly funny and human? After you read this play you'll realize that answer was secretly yes. A smart, topical, heart breaking, and maybe even hopeful play, RABIES is demanding to be brought to life as soon as possible.

A play about animals that is so remarkably human. I often wonder “what is it that makes us human? What is it that sets us apart?” To me, this play hit the nail on the head, by exploring this through animal eyes. It is our compulsion for selflessness, to put others we care about before ourselves, and to do right by them when they are gone. I commend the playwright’s ability to find such distinct, rich voices for all of the animals included in the play. A script that actors can really sink their teeth into. (Pun intended!)

A very powerful and most original play and quite brilliant actually. It's a page turner. You quickly suspend disbelief and are pulled into the animal's world. Well done! I would love to see this on stage.
