Olney Theatre Center, founded in 1938, is an award-winning regional theater company with a four-stage campus located just north of Washington, DC in arts-rich Montgomery County. We produce and present a wide variety of extraordinary theater year-round for our ever-more diverse community, and educate the next generation of theater makers to follow in our footsteps.

Under the leadership of Artistic Director Jason Loewith and Managing Director Debbie Ellinghaus, Olney presents regional and world premieres of new plays, revivals of culturally-relevant works, family-friendly musicals and free Shakespeare every summer. Each year, we serve close to 100,000 individuals through productions, workshops and other educational opportunities, and community outreach initiatives on and outside of Olney’s campus. Our educational programs are anchored by the National Players, the country's oldest classic-theater touring company.
