Definition Theatre’s ensemble celebrates stories created with, inspired by, and intended for individuals and communities of color. Through the act of making, Definition expands perspectives, stewards resources, and bridges the immense possibility found at the intersection of art, innovation, and education. Our new theater, community center, and business incubator will be a safe environment in Woodlawn for artists, administrators, educators, and designers, while also serving as a business incubator for BIPOC entrepreneurs and community members on Chicago’s South and West Side. Our goal is to become a cultural hub that amplifies and archives BIPOC voices, visions, and stories as catalysts for social justice, racial healing, and conversations that explore the challenges and joys of our everyday lives.
