brother sister cyborg space

In the too-close-for-comfort future, an environmental justice organizer named Giselle and her billionaire baby brother Elon are (unsurprisingly) at odds. She believes the earth and her people are worth saving; he marvels at the potential in starting over somewhere new. Meanwhile, his virtual assistant Ava has some very nuanced opinions of her own. She believes the earth and her people are worth saving; he marvels at the potential in starting over somewhere new. Meanwhile, his virtual assistant Ava has some very nuanced opinions of her own. Set against the backdrop of a rapidly-accelerating climate crisis, brother sister cyborg space explores political divisions within families, an expanding definition of humanity, and what we'll do when time runs out.

Really hope to see this produced someday. An amazing play about family and the fate of our planet. All three characters are so well-written. This is a play that will start so many necessary conversations. A play that is definitely for today's audience. Has some great monologues for anyone looking.

I really enjoyed this - it's a strong character/relationship piece, full of quick-witted dialogue that makes you laugh and really invest in these people (and AI assistant). I also love when a play has me siding with different characters from moment to moment. Because another strong aspect of this play is that it's not afraid to wrestle with big questions about our planet and its future, as well as humanity's successes and failures.
