Acanthus is a surprising "spaghetti Western" comedy about the challenges of "moving on." It's absurdist humor slams together the American West saloon style with some slapstick and sharp wit. This play has almost a Lucky/Pozzo from "Waiting for Godot" vibes as we watch Temperance and Holt circle each other. A fun cast of characters for a theater looking for a tight ensemble, one location set, and some magical props (including an undead rooster) that a designer could have a hoot with realizing.

This play is a fantastic and surprisingly touching comedy about grief, community, and how we can move on after loss. But, one thing to know is that this play is FUNNY. Morille has a way of navigating the needs of these characters in a way that is never predictable but always feels satisfying.
