“The Humoral Funeral Parlor on the Corner of the Street” is a dark musical comedy that centers around a family of undertakers who are on the brink of losing everything when a rival named Mr. Hughes opens up shop and begins stealing all of their business. Threatened with losing his ancestral home and terrified of becoming the failure his father predicted he would be, Maxim Humoral hatches a devious plot to drum up business: killing people for funerals. As the bodies pile up, Maxim's wife Sarah grapples with being overshadowed by the Humoral family legacy and her habit of swiping jewelry from their corpses, his brother Quincy must pay off gangsters over gambling debts or risk losing his life, and his son Robert struggles to win back Maxim's secretary Corrine after his selfishness drives her into the arms of another. Things grow even more complicated for Maxim when Mr. Hughes finds out about his murderous scheme and blackmails him, forcing Maxim to figure out a way out of the mess he's created.
