Written for young adults, to be performed by young adults, Walden (remix) is modern riff of Henry David Thoreau’s Walden and Civil Disobedience. This Walden is about the first person to live (alone) on the moon, who is an 18 year old woman named H. H gets video visits from her teenage pals back home, but H's ties to earth and humanity are fading more and more as she spends time alone. Well, actually, she is not alone. She's kept company by an artificial intelligence system that she names Larry Bird. Larry Bird (LB) is quickly evolving and together, LB and H explore what it means to be human when humans keep screwing everything up. Commissioned by The Alliance in Atlanta, this play examines social justice, climate change and what it means to be a young adult today.
