Out in the Noonday Sun

Having spent some time in Rhodes in the heat of the noonday sun, (really only mid-day to us Brits) I can clearly imagine the scene in which this slick horror unfolds. What starts as a Shirley Valentine-esque meet cute, soon turns very dark indeed, with as many twist and turns as of the little cobbled streets of this historic town.
A timeless play, in my head I took this to the 11th century.
Also, this would be such a fun challenge to stage, love it!

I am so glad I didn't look at the description ahead of time. I thought this would be an enjoyably ordinary interaction between travelers and a friendly denizen of the area. Scott Sickles doesn't have time for the ordinary though. Oh no. I'm not going to give it away though. Read this one knowing nothing, and you'll see a writer who knows how to engage you in ways you didn't see coming.

BETHUNE: A curvy, middle-aged English woman in a dark red summer dress (can be polka dot or print as well) that shows off her best features. She wears a stylish wide brimmed sunhat. (Pronounced: Bah-THYOON.)
SPIROS: A sturdily built Greek man, weathered, middle aged or older, with a constant, wide, toothy smile. He can be thick or wiry but obviously strong. Knows he’s sexy or at least projects that arrogance, even if he’s not conventionally handsome. In fact, the more unconventional his look, the better. (Pronounced “SPEE-rross,” rolling the r a tiny bit.)
DAVEN: A middle aged English man in a light summer suit (white or light seersucker), and a dark shirt that contrasts with his clerical collar. He carries a neutral-colored sun umbrella. (Pronounced DAH-vehn.)
