When half the cast drops out of a performance at the 11th hour, a reluctant stage manager is pressed into service and all hell breaks out. Nine Minute Nutcracker takes off from the start and doesn’t stop as actors are forced to make changes on the fly, leave characters by the wayside and ad lib on the go. This farce is great fun. Add a star if you love The Nutcracker like me.

What fun! The comic desperation of the show must go on mentality runs up against an initially reluctant stage manager. The stage manager's ultimate performance leads to a delightful mangling of the Nutcracker and great fun for the audience.

Somehow, this tiny, farcical, breakneck play addresses all the major beats in Act I of The Nutcracker... in the most abbreviated, ridiculous manner possible! However, it's the framing of the goofy performance that is the sugarplum on top of this goofy comedy, in which a troupe in a pinch enlists a reluctant stage manager to deliver the performance of a lifetime! It's a super silly theatrical treat for anyone, like myself, who loves the source material and wants to poke fun at the story! Fun!
