    Lovely this is!
Brilliantly named Ollie and Aldi (no spoilers here) muse about how worrisome it is to be a lady of a certain age, and indeed younger, when one has to always look lovely for the Gentlemen. Meanwhile Deedee, young and lovely herself just wants to sit upon the wall and look, well, lovely! What Deedee does next is the crux of the story and sets up a fantastic twist at the end.
    Lovely indeed!

James Binz turns the nursery rhyme about Humpty Dumpty on its head in this short play about his heroine, Dee Dee who likes to sit on a wall in an English garden. When an accident happens and Dee Dee falls to the other side, Oli says, "I"m concerned," but does nothing but blather with friend Aldi about societal expectations of women and their need to keep up appearances. Well done, James.

I love the character names! But the message is also quite wonderful, Aldi and Oli lament about how difficult it is to maintain a sense of "loveliness" so that society will appreciate them. They wish things can change. But when young Deedee falls off the wall, they won't even lift a finger to assist her, for fear that it would impact their own appearance. Quite a statement about society and "women lifting up women" in a fun and quirky way.
