"Danger makes everything beautiful." - I had chills from the personification of the glacier itself, to the eerie voices on the wind, to the portraits of the past that weave themselves throughout this thrilling and foreboding story. Are these stranded explorers running from something or running to something else? The audience is ultimately left to decide.

Survival horror is difficult to pull off in theatre, and Walker aces it in this short play. The intensity of the environment and situation creates sky-high stakes from the beginning, and a growing supernatural presence escalates the dread throughout. Exciting, scary, and thrilling.

A period-set THE SHINING, Kyle Walker's wonderfully atmospheric tale gives us four explorers stranded in an absolutely nightmarish setting, slowly succumbing to...something. Walker cagily leaves it to us to determine if his quartet is being menaced by some nameless monster of the frozen wilds, or by their own demons and consciences. Either way, it's a marvelously creepy, frightening, frostbitten piece of American Gothic horror.
