Fantasy-world creatures meet real-world angst in Gina L. Grandi's awesomely named MermAged, a play that illustrates that, while "the seaweed is always greener in somebody else's lake", living in a world of magic and wonder would still be a slog for most of the population. And it has smoking mermaids! How does anyone get addicted to nicotine in an underwater environment? I'm confused as heck, but I'm digging it!

Oh this hits! I love and hate that I see myself in these mermaids. The ennui they feel is heavier than the water itself. When even fantastical creatures feel the weight of aging...? But I guess it's nice to not feel alone!

Imagine Real Housewives but with Mermaids! Well, except with no fighting or drama just gossip. I really enjoyed these characters and how they all have such wonderful yet funny personalities! I also really like how they mention Ariel and her legs! Wonderful Work Gina!
