When two young “journalists” are kidnapped in a foreign land, then returned to the U.S. years later, they can't know what awaits them. The world has changed, and friends and family have moved on in unexpected ways. Each must reckon with who they are now, and consider the consequences of their actions. Wellman deftly explores the complicated dynamics of those who were in captivity, and those left behind. This play has exciting theatrical possibilities - I’d love to see it staged!

Wellman does a great job at exploring the lives of two kidnapped people right after they are freed from their captivity. Noah and Bailey are such interesting characters. They are adrenaline junkies that might not have planned to get kidnapped but they also knew the danger they were stepping into. This makes things so much more dramatic and complicated as we look at all the lives that were impacted by their choices. This is a play about blame and regret and trying to piece one's life back together. Produce this play!!

An incredibly empathetic look at the consequences of fucking around and finding out in real life. This timely play asks the question what do we do with the people in our lives who keep putting themselves in harm's way? How many times can they be saved without the damage being too great to repair the relationship? Is there a way forward after someone's irreparably damaged not just their own life but the lives of those closest to them?
