Amazingly funny and raw. Three siblings in a hospital waiting room, none of them wanting to take their injured mother home, and the conversation gets messy fast. Paris Herbert-Taylor nails sibling dynamics and the way they gang up on each other only to then shift alliances in a heartbeat. The dialogue feels natural, and I appreciated how the play doesn't try to wrap everything up neatly. These are flawed people doing their best, and the humor comes from a real place.

Three adult children await their elderly mother’s hospital release knowing that one of them is going to have to bring their fractious and disagreeable matron home with them when they leave. Paris Hebert-Taylor presents and witty and sympathetic portrayal of the three siblings as they negotiate responsibility and struggle to balance their own individual lives and needs against a filial loyalty to a woman that both brought them into the world and caused many of their difficulties in it.

Huge stakes! A mother can no longer live alone. Now her three children (are they maladaptive, or is she? That is the question!) must decide which of them can care for her. Two of the grown children are on the LGBTQ+ spectrum which is a significant problem for dear old mom, and the third child may be the most maladaptive of all. There's enough drama and tension in this script to power an entire full-length, but the author pares it all down to 10-minutes. It's tight with some excellent characters!
