In a homophobic world-- no, not this one, a MORE homophobic world-- Johnny is asked to identify where and what the Hock-Cock-A-Mook Islands are-- but he can’t. Aghast, society shuns him. This was absolutely absurd in the very best way! I really enjoyed the story of a high schooler trying to answer a question "everyone" is supposed to have the answer to. The madcap journey that ensues is a delight and ultimately leads him to find and FINALLY express his true self. This political satire has a lot of heart! Bravo, Danielle Wirsansky!

Danielle Wirsansky’s The Hock-Cock-A-Mook Islands is a fast-paced, irreverent musical that blends absurd humor with sharp political satire. Following a high schooler’s surreal journey through space after failing a seemingly simple question, the script takes aim at conformity, censorship, and queer identity. It’s loud, chaotic, and proudly unapologetic — and beneath the madness, there’s a surprisingly sincere heart.

We were able to produce this show with a minimum of 8 actors, with actors being double cast in roles that they fit particularly well. It's extremely flexible. All the characters can be played by actors of any race and the only characters that must be played by characters of particular genders include: Johnny, who must be played by a cis-man; Orion, who must be played by a non-binary actor, and The Governor, who must be played by a cis-man.
