The impacts of behaviorism are followed through the intersecting lives of youth, their service providers and family members.

Two fathers of behaviorism Dr. Skinner and Dr. Lovas play the part of a Greek Chorus, in framing the story, and giving it context.

As residents of the Behavioral Change Center strive to escape abuse, by painful electric shock, their parents and service providers slowly question whether their part in this abuse can be justified.

The story ends with the issue unresolved - abuse is still legally allowed, although some of the residents are able to rebuild their lives and relationships outside of the center, including through becoming advocates for legal change

The audience becomes part of the story, as the fourth wall is broken, to ask them where they stand on acceptance, care, control, and free will.
