Could Jane, a 60 ish year old widow, be in the early stages of dementia? Her beloved grandson, Colin, a 22 year old culinary student, doesn't want to believe that she is. Her daughter, Melissa, believes there are increasing signs that she is. Meanwhile, Jane is determined to take the trip of her dreams, to go to Peru, ideally with Colin when he finishes school. Roadblocks to her plans pop up all over. Her good friend and neighbor, Theo, tells Jane that the Gorilla Group plans to buy their homes in order to gentrify their neighborhood, Colin gets an externship in New York, and Jane's symptoms are becoming hard to ignore. Should Jane sell her house? Move to senior living? Find a way to go to Peru, even if she's diagnosed with early dementia? Each character has his or her own point of view about the central questions: Should Jane choose safety over adventure and freedom? And who gets to decide?
