We envision a world where inclusive representation goes beyond mere aspirations in the entertainment industry. Through our work with survivors – a historically marginalized and diverse group themselves – we represent a holistic path towards a more just and inclusive future for everyone.

Founded by actor, writer, filmmaker, and Weinstein survivor Sarah Ann Masse, Hire Survivors Hollywood™ (HSH) was born as a direct response to the retaliation that often plagues survivors. We serve as advocates: urging industry organizations to hire survivors; to officially recognize survivors of sexual violence as a protected class; to ensure them equitable access to employment opportunities; and to create a safer and more equitable work environment for all. But we don’t simply advocate, we provide simple yet transformative tools to enact our vision.

Our efforts have ensured countless survivors have been interviewed, auditioned, and employed within their fields of expertise. Through collaborative partnerships and consultations with industry leaders, we offer valuable tools, guidelines, trainings, and best practices for fostering a secure and equitable working environment.

As a notable part of our work, HSH created a comprehensive toolkit to help film industry stakeholders put the HSH pledge into action by creating 1) opportunities for survivors and 2) a safe, welcoming, equitable, and inclusive work environment at every stage of an artistic project, from development to release.

The Toolkit has been featured in Variety, The Hollywood Reporter, Forbes, and more. Using the concepts outlined in the toolkit, HSH has consulted on numerous films and series, most recently A More Perfect Union, Largo, What Remains, and She Said. In addition, nearly 100 filmmakers have signed the pledge to support survivors in their filmmaking process, and celebrities sported HSH pins on the 2023 red carpets at the Academy Awards, WGA Awards, and many more.

After this successful launch into film/TV, the Hire Survivors organization is thrilled to be extending the company's work into live theatre.
