Breath of Fire Latina Theater Ensemble, the only Latina theater company in Orange County (based in downtown Santa Ana—the corazón of the county) came into existence over fifteen years ago. Since its re-emergence in 2015, Breath of Fire has continued serving as an incubator for underrepresented voices in theater by providing programming that offers guidance in the art of storytelling, playwriting, producing, and acting. We produce work that not only reflects and empowers the Latinx community, but impacts the world at large. Breath of Fire Latina Theater Ensemble believes in the transformative power of theater, and aims to raise awareness of critical issues in the community, entertain and challenge, foster cross-cultural understanding, and be a catalyst for personal healing and social justice.
