I love this play for so many reasons! It captures the voices of young (HS) people in ways that come across as honest and believable. Its characters are sweet and awkward; sometimes nervous and unsure; and they hurt and feel hurt. The lines of dialogue create a play so immediately immersive even as it plays with time in its storytelling. It's a queer play where characters don't, can't and perhaps won't name their feelings for each other, making it especially relevant to younger readers or audiences for whom queerness is complex and fluid, sometimes frustrating. Great for classroom discussion!

My high school student directors and actors threw themselves into this piece wholeheartedly and got an enormous amount out of putting it up. This is a lovely play about the real lives, loves, and losses of two girls, and it gives actors strong material to grapple with. Want objectives, high stakes, subtext, actions, tactics, etc that are accessible and relatable? They're all here, and more. Highly recommended.

This is a lovely, heart-tugging short play, a narrative of subtlety and nuance for a talented pair of young actors. The anchor phrase of the play is full of resonance, as life does its best to shake us out and force us away from the ones we love. For anyone who's loved someone who has felt out of reach, for anyone who's loved and lost and yearned for love again, Anamaria Guerzon's "Keep You" rings beautifully, painfully true.
