Love Person

by Aditi Kapil

A four part love story in Sanskrit, ASL and English in which love transcends sexual orientation, physical attraction, and social structure, and rests instead on the ways in which we communicate and how communication bonds or breaks us. The play is structured around 4 Sanskrit love poems that influence and reflect the journeys of the characters.

One of the most beautiful and captivating plays I've ever seen in production. Language itself came alive as a distinct and discrete character in this story of people who are struggling across language divides. It engaged my mind every minute.

A wonderful scripts that deftly weaves the world of the hearing and the deaf together, showing where they intersect & how they diverge, all circling around a incredibly engaging love triangle. The Company One production in Boston made me fall in love w/ this playwright & that company. I live a few blocks from Gallaudet University & would love to see a DC company tackle this play.
