Winner of the 2019 Chesley/Bumbalo Playwriting Award, and a 2019 O'Neill Finalist, PIDOR and the Wolf blurs the bones of an old Russian fable to paint a contemporary portrait of loss in modern-day Chechnya.

I need to see this produced. It's a play that fully takes advantage of the things only theatre can do as it tells this tale that feels ancient and so relevant to our time. This play is about the importance of storytelling especially in places where people's stories are silenced.

Absolutely beautiful and utterly spectacular. Every sensation is articulated with vivid language every feeling so clear and we understand from the depths of the soul. Brilliant. An exquisite piece of theatre.

Haunting, beautiful, and exquisitely theatrical. The startling choice to have characters narrate in third person at times is used more brilliantly here than I've seen it used before to communicate their inner turmoil. The visual and aural landscape is so clear from reading this piece, and I can only imagine the number of powerful ways a production team could realize this all. Spare and taut at moments and intensely lyrical in others, every word in this piece counts.
