Synopsis: In this reimagination for young people of the Bard’s classic play, Romeo Mongoose and Juliet Catapult are two boys who fall in love as their families' obnoxious and occasionally deadly feud disrupts the local tourism industry. As Lord Catapult schemes to have his son Juliet wed the wealthy heiress Paris Motel 6, Juliet and Romeo marry with the help of the local Fry cook.

The LGBTQ adaptation was written for a junior high drama class in Texas. Although a campy comedy, the play turns serious late – before finding a happy ending for Juliet and his Romeo. *LGBTYA*

A fast-paced, hilarious and poignant adaptation of Romeo and Juliet that satisfies a lot of itches--it's good for all ages, full of clever humor that would appeal to adults and those hard to pinpoint middle grade sensibilities, and breaks new ground with this text in an age-appropriate fashion. Oglesby's work manages to capture the frenetic pace and hilarity of plays written for middle schoolers, while bringing in an LGBTQ lens and focus that most middle grade playwrights shy away from.
