In the evocative play "Last Words," inspired by real events, the story unfolded on July 20, 1973. Two best friends find themselves at the culmination of an extraordinary senior year in high school. Having recently graduated, one friend celebrates just ten days after his 18th birthday. Following a night of revelry in Newport, Rhode Island—filled with drinking, dancing, and merriment—the duo finds solace in a familiar spot: the rock at the Surfers End of Second Beach in Middletown. As they sit together, watching the sunrise and engaging in a heartfelt conversation, they reflect on life and contemplate the future. Unbeknownst to them, their words exchanged on this fateful morning will carry profound significance. Tragically, one of them will utter their final words between two friends, unknowingly bidding farewell, while for the other, these words will forever echo in their memory.
