FULL-LENGTH, FUKT is an oddly uplifting personal tale of traumatic memory, incest, murder & private parts! With zombies, a striptease and song, this immersive, fearless journey to bare all is a healing balm for anyone with a secret.

Emma (played by an actor) tries to perform a one-woman show about why she changed her name only Barbara and Bobbie interrupt and demand to be included. Bobbie holds all the memories that were erased by the traumas that Emma has survived. Barbara lived for a long time without remembering and would like to go on this way. FUKT is about how three fragmented aspects of a traumatized person come together to heal.

Content Warning: this play deals with traumatic memory about incest and sexual abuse. The play could trigger anyone who is already dealing with (or ignoring) these issues.

Powerful and provoking play about believing women, and the stories we must create for ourselves when we fear we will not be belived.

Emma Goldman-Sherman holds nothing back in “FUKT,” a play that builds in tension and complexity as the piece progresses. These characters were constructed with utmost care, and Goldman-Sherman clearly articulates the necessity for the subject matter, which is bolstered by her incorporation of dark comedy. Brave, poignant and important, “FUKT” is a play that deserves the spotlight.

I love the humor that opens the play. I relaxed immediately into the story. It is so much fun listening to a woman arguing with herself. And then we fall into the pain and I want to listen. The opening prepared me to listen. And I listened to every word. Fukt is brave, necessary, and needed.
