In a small town in California, Maria wants nothing more than to meet this mysterious Hank Lord she’s been talking to online. Her sister is trying to live in the 90s. Neither know that Hank Lord is actually a demon.

Meanwhile, Ella's job at Taco Bell isn't going well. Her manager won't talk with her, and she is coming to terms with her own sexuality, and she keeps hearing the cries from the cows in the ground beef.

This awkward comedy about people connecting and disconnecting was described by an audience member as "Clerks meets The Goonies."

Basement Demons and Trailer Saints

Character Information

  • Maria
    21,
    woman
Maria essentially raised herself on the internet after her dad decided to homeschool her. She had no real friends once the neighbors moved away, but she did have Instagram.
  • Dirt
    17,
    woman
Like Maria, Dirt grew up homeschooled and without friends, but instead of heading to the internet, Dirt played Dad’s old video games and got into the 90s, from which she hasn’t escaped. She wears her father’s uniforms and old superhero shirts. She may wind up identifying as non-binary, but is years from figuring this out. (Like her sister, she's coded as mixed-Latina, but can be played by anyone.)
  • Kevin
    19,
    Non-binary
Non-binary (they/them pronouns) Kevin is into death metal and doesn’t give a fuck. They know who they are. They were assigned female at birth, but learned to roll their eyes at that before they learned to walk.
  • Ella
    17,
    woman
Ella works at Taco Bell. She’s awkward and scared of her mother.
  • Dean
    17,
    Male
Dean is high-maintenance and awkward, eccentric, dorky, and cares way too much about antique furniture. He’s into relics of all kinds.
  • Hank
    Any Age,
    Male
    Ageless. A demon. A catfish.
