On My Honor

Well-meaning but messy Girl Scout Troop 2185 strikes terror into their Boston, MA suburb as one exhausted mom after another resigns as troop leader. MICHELLE, JULIE’S mom and the last mom left, is reluctant to lead alongside spacey, flaky, unpredictable LIZ, MOLLY’S mom. When new-to-town JANET signs up her daughter BRIANNA to the troop last minute, MICHELLE has some hope for the first time in a long time. Meanwhile, MICHELLE’S husband DAVID, while trying to be supportive of his wife and daughter (but also trying to talk them into quitting Scouts to save them all some aggravation), also finds himself juggling a new, awkward friendship with commute buddy KEVIN, who’s dealing with a painful divorce and new life as a single dad. On My Honor is a comedy about committing to trying your best, even when the going gets tough, and being the best adult you can be, even when you still feel like a kid.

On My Honor

I loved this play that chooses to show us the other side, the side that doesn't get talked about, of the difficulty that is a Girl Scout Troop: being a Girl Scout Parent.
I enjoyed seeing the contrast between Michelle and Janet's friendship and David and Kevin's friendship. Using the Girl Scouts as a chorus is GENIUS. All of these characters are truly fighting to do their best- for themselves, and for their children, even when things don't always work out.

Character Information

All characters may be played by actors of any race/ethnicity, and by cis or transgender actors. The five adults should be played by actors in their mid-30s to mid-40s. The four scouts should be played by actors in their 20s. All actors will be playing single characters. (The cast can play up their Boston accents, but they shouldn't feel the need to push it.)
